My name is Laurie, and I founded PBM Consulting Service because I believe small towns deserve the same opportunities as larger cities.

Years ago, I worked as a medical billing manager and unexpectedly lost my job. As a single mother, I found myself facing a challenge that many women in small communities understand all too well. I still had children to care for, bills to pay, and very limited options. Without a strong support system, balancing work, family, and financial stability felt nearly impossible.

What stayed with me from that experience was not just how difficult it was, but how many people helped me through it. Friends, family, and members of my community supported me when I needed it most. Their kindness never left me.

Today, I look around Guthrie and see many of the same challenges. In some ways, they have become even harder. Too many hardworking people are forced to choose between a small number of employment opportunities, even though they have the talent, determination, and ideas to build something more.

I started PBM Consulting Service because I wanted to create another path.

PBM helps small businesses access resources, opportunities, and tools that are often difficult to find or too expensive for startups and small organizations. We are developing consulting services and software solutions focused on grant awareness, government contracting opportunities, project management, procurement support, logistics optimization, and business growth.

Our goal is to help level the playing field for small businesses by giving them practical tools and guidance that help them compete, grow, and create opportunities within their communities.

What makes PBM different is that our mission extends beyond helping a single business succeed. We want to help communities succeed.

We believe successful small businesses create jobs, strengthen local economies, and help families build futures close to home. We want to see more entrepreneurs put down roots in towns like Guthrie instead of feeling they have to leave to find opportunity.

My goal is not simply to build a successful company. My goal is to help other people build successful companies.

We are building both the technology and the support behind PBM: software that helps small businesses identify grant opportunities, monitor government contracting opportunities, manage projects, streamline procurement, and organize their operations more effectively. The first piece is already running: Set-Aside Radar reads every new federal bid each morning and sends each business the ones that fit it.

Building useful tools is important, but making sure entrepreneurs know those tools exist is equally important. Our initial focus is helping small businesses gain visibility into grants, government contracting opportunities, construction industry networking, and actionable business leads. As our network grows, we plan to expand into broader consulting, project management support, procurement guidance, logistics assistance, and long-term business development planning.

Every business we help start or grow has the potential to create jobs, strengthen families, and contribute to the long-term success of communities like Guthrie and other small towns across Oklahoma.

As I have gotten older, I have thought a lot about the legacy I want to leave behind. I do not want my legacy to be that I simply made it through difficult times. I want my legacy to be that I helped the people who helped me and created opportunities for others to succeed.

I believe the future of small towns depends on the people willing to invest in them. PBM Consulting Service was founded on the belief that opportunity should not be limited by geography. Small-town entrepreneurs deserve access to the same tools, resources, and opportunities available anywhere else.

If we succeed, PBM will not only help businesses grow. It will help communities grow.
